ARTICLE II: PURPOSES

      The purposes of the Society are exclusively educational and charitable and are to:
         1. provide a society within which current and former pupils of Jack C. Hughston, M.D., can meet for frank and open
         discussion of topics in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine.
         2. advance the fields of orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine through collaborative group clinical research.
         3. encourage and stimulate orthopaedic residents and fellows to apply their skills and interests toward research in orthopaedics
         and sports medicine.
         4. provide continuing education in the principles originally learned through experiences at the Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic.
         5. function as a viable supporting organization for the Hughston Sports Medicine Foundation.
